: julia's letter (may 04)

May 2004

Last month (April 2004) I turned 6. Okay, 6 months (at this age, days count).

To celebrate, Mommy and Daddy took me to Giorgio's for Pizza (on my actual birthday). Two days later they took me to see my Bubbie. We went out for breakfast at Hallie's Diner. I like Hallie's. I was really looking forward to meeting Hallie.

As a birthday gift, my Mom and Dad surprised me with a trip to Kinderhook, New York to see my Great Grandma Bea and my Great Aunt Rima. We had a great trip. The airports and plane rides were fun, all the sights, sounds and people. When can we do it again?

While in Kinderhook, I met my Great Grandma Bea, my Great Aunt Rima, my Cousin Laura and my Cousin Sarah (Laura's daughter), Uncle John and Aunt Dawn, Uncle Herb, and Juana (pronounced Joanna).

The visit started with Daddy and Sarah baking Little Bea's (aka Grandma Cookies). Then we ate, and ate, and ate, and ate. Every day there was a different feast. We had lobster, ham, eggplant parmesan, pork loin, and more! Great Aunt Rima can cook anything!

We went to a museum in Albany, Mommy say's Albany is New York's state capital and only 30 minutes from Kinderhook. We hung out on the sun porch in Kinderhook. We spent time in Great Grandma's cottage. We played in the back yard. We took walks. We visited with Kinderhook neighbors. And we enjoyed Spring.

What a wonderful trip. Next time you should join us.

When we got home, there was so much to do because we were gone forever. We still made time to catch up with friends and go to the park. Spring is here too.

For those of you I didn't see last month, I had my sixth month check up with Doctor Chan and I've grown! I'm 26.75 inches and I weighed in at 17.9 pounds. My next check up will be when I'm 9 months old.

Hugs and kisses, 'til next month,

-Julia
